Gage Chichester, CRNA, provided pre-operative care and assessment for my mother during her knee replacement surgery earlier in the year. He was also the CRNA who cared for her during the procedure. Mr. Chichester had a genuine desire for my mother to feel educated and comfortable as she went into surgery. His empathy for her pre-operative anxiety was one in a million. His voice and demeanor were consistently calm as he went above and beyond to patiently educate her on what she was about to experience before, during, and after her anesthesia. He followed up later in the day after surgery and again the following day to make sure she was comfortable and feeling well. His knowledge was obvious and impressive, but most importantly, he combined this with genuine empathy and compassion as he built a relationship with my mom, gaining her trust.
