She reassured me that everything’s gonna be OK and just sits with me while I’m crying and comforts me.
Gabby was our first nurse when we got admitted about 3 weeks ago. She was an amazing nurse to my newborn at the time. She was fighting for us when no one else was. She was telling the doctors something was wrong, even though they were dismissive. Even on days she wasn’t assigned to us, she still came to visit us throughout her shift and just talked to us. Even after she clocked out, she comes in with her jacket and bag on and just sits with us, talks to us. We had an issue with a bad roommate, and she just goes above and beyond to try to get someone to help us change rooms to make the situation better. She not only cares for my 26-day-old baby for the last 3 weeks, she also genuinely cares about me while going through post-partum with a newborn in the hospital and 2 toddlers at home. She brought my baby toys to play with, even though she’s not old enough yet, she said she can still hold onto them. I have never met a nurse or even a human as caring and loving as Gabby is. She deserves a DAISY and anything else she can get. She really is our angel sent from heaven. She also helps me understand and calm me down, as I am new to having a cardiac baby. She reassured me that everything’s gonna be OK and just sits with me while I’m crying and comforts me. She even comes in and helps me feed my baby a bottle so I can get some time to rest, even if she’s not the nurse assigned to us.
