Frank Castellana, Jr., RN

Frank is an extraordinary, caring nurse. He has been my mother’s nurse several times and has always been kind and very informative. He takes the time to answer all your questions and concerns.

My mother was hospitalized on the same day as her outpatient procedure. She was on the Telemetry floor and had surgery for a complication due to said procedure. Frank explained everything to me and what to expect and asked me if I needed anything.

After surgery, my mother was sent back to her room on Frank’s floor. Shortly after, something happened that warranted a “Rapid Response.” Frank jumped into action calmly and got her stable. She was taken back to the OR quickly.

I was standing in the hall, terrified I was going to lose my mom. Not knowing what to do, I went to the waiting room I sat in all morning. I was alone and scared. Frank came around the corner and sat with me. He explained what happened, assured me that she was in good hands, and it would be OK. He reassured me that the surgeon would find me afterward.

I can’t thank Frank enough for checking on me. My mother went to the ICU for several days after surgery. Frank showed up during his lunch to check on my mom.

He is so compassionate and caring. Not many nurses stand out like Frank; he truly embodies what a nurse should be. He really deserves to be recognized for the wonderful person and nurse that he is.
