It is impossible for me to just cite one specific situation of why I am nominating my VA nurse for the distinguished DAISY Award, because this nurse is by far my number one hero! I am a 100% disabled veteran, almost 89 years old, from the Korean War (Navy), and oxygen dependent.

I am so blessed to receive the most dedicated and compassionate care from Flora with the utmost dignity and respect. She cares deeply for the veteran patients as though they were family. She understands completely my physical, occupational, and emotional needs and fears, having serious lung cancer. She goes above and beyond to comfort me. It is so reassuring to know Flora is always there for me.

Often, just hearing the voice helps me in ways I cannot express. Flora always returns my calls promptly, follows through, and follows up each and every time. Nothing ever falls through the cracks! As a result of her nursing expertise and genuine caring persona, I am enjoying a much better quality of life. I am forever grateful beyond words!
