Faiza Brandt, ADN, RN
Faiza is one of the kindest nurses I have ever met. I had mistaken the time of my first phototherapy appointment, and she still took me in happily! She made me feel super comfortable throughout the process and explained everything clearly. I was extremely nervous walking into the dermatology department but left feeling confident; all thanks to her.
I drive 45 minutes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for my treatments. She knew it was a drive for me, so she kindly recommended looking into having the treatments done at home to save me the trouble. However, I kindly declined, as she makes coming to my appointments something to look forward to. She always radiates such positivity. What better way to start my day?
She truly shows how much she cares for each and every patient. I leave every appointment feeling seen and cared for. Without Faiza’s uplifting energy, I would have dreaded coming and most likely given up. This process of treating Mycosis Fungoides has been long, but I genuinely look forward to coming to and leaving the dermatology office with a much more hopeful outlook.
I appreciate and give all my thanks to Faiza for making it a better experience than I imagined. Her optimism, compassion, and humor soften the tough realities of life for a little while. I wholeheartedly believe that if anyone deserves this award, it is her.

I have been a patient of UC Davis Dermatology for over a year now, at this point I believe. I have been treated with phototherapy at one point three times a week, now down to two. Overall, this time the only thing consistent other than my treatment has been Faiza.
I can’t recall an appointment I had where she wasn’t working, and in all this time, she has been nothing but professional and personable with me. While my treatment has been a long road, Faiza has been right there with and for me. Whether it be anything from morning greeting, small talk about life in general, and/or questions I may have about my appointment schedule or treatment, everything with her has been asked and answered in a way where I don’t only think she cares about my wellbeing, but I know.
Through all my time in and out of hospital settings, I can tell when someone is just going through the motions or just doing their job because that’s all it is to them. With Faiza, she truly shows, time and time again, care, interest, concern, and compassion for me and any other patient or coworker I see her interact with.

Faiza has made a difficult situation easier! She is the most caring and competent nurse I have had. As a cancer patient/survivor, I have been under the care of many wonderful doctors and nurses at UC Davis, and I owe my life to them.
Now, as I have come to have another medical issue, over the last year and a half I have been under the compassionate watch of Faiza during three times per week phototherapy sessions. I could never have imagined how much I would look forward to seeing Faiza every week. She has made my treatment easy, efficient, and with such kindness.
She knows her stuff and has never steered me wrong, and always gets any information or answers to questions right away. I am extremely and forever grateful for Faiza!

Faiza is amazing at what she does. There’s no one else who could run the phototherapy department better than she can. She’s been beyond helpful to me and is like a second mother to me. She does whatever it takes to make me feel comfortable and that I have everything I need.
Also, she is very caring and concerned as well with her patients. She’s always checking on me to make sure I’m doing okay and that the phototherapy team is meeting my requests. Faiza is a very kind and very hard-working individual, and she deserves this DAISY Award.

I see her every Tuesday for my phototherapy treatments, and she always greets me with a smile on her face. I've been getting my treatment for about a year now, and she has been great at explaining everything along the way. Faiza is always happy to answer all my questions.
Best of all, she makes me feel like I am a priority and gets me in and out quickly, which I truly appreciate. Faiza makes my visits pleasant, especially since I must come in every week to keep my psoriasis under control.
