Being a new mom and having an infant struggling to breathe was something I didn't expect and Fidela was kind, calm, caring, and knew just what I needed to move in the right direction with feeding and be more successful at home with my new baby.
I would like to nominate Fidela who was my night nurse when I stayed in the Mother Baby unit. She came to the rescue when we were discharged but then had a scary ER visit the night we left the hospital. My newborn was struggling to breathe and my milk supply was out of control. When we arrived at the ER, it was 1:30 am and no lactation consultant was available, so the ER Dr. (who was so encouraging, thank you to him!) asked for a nurse to come from the Mother Baby unit, and luckily it was my nurse from the previous night, Fidela! Fidela helped me figure out what was going on with my breast engorgement, and baby's congestion and gave me the tools and reassurance to help me on one of the scariest nights of my life. Being a new mom and having an infant struggling to breathe was something I didn't expect and Fidela was kind, calm, caring, and knew just what I needed to move in the right direction with feeding and be more successful at home with my new baby. Fidela went above and beyond and made sure someone from lactation called me the very next day first thing in the morning to schedule a consultation. I was able to get in later that week and that was such a game-changing appointment. I learned how to feed my baby to help him not be so congested and this has eased my anxieties dramatically as his breathing continues to improve. Thank you so much, Fidela!!!!!!
