Eve comforted my family and myself during the process, as well as all of our other patients whom she blesses daily.
I am an RN working for Trinity Health at Home- Grand Haven Hospice and am lucky to say I work alongside Eve Marcum. Eve is an Admissions RN for our hospice team, which, in my opinion, is one of the hardest tasks. You have to be very attentive, knowledgeable, and patient to be in her role. She is one of the best nurses to have at the start of care, which I witnessed personally when my grandfather was signing onto our hospice services. Eve brings a calming presence during this time, which is often scary for families and patients as they know they are signing on to die (literally).
Death is scary when you are facing it head-on, as you’ve never experienced it before and don’t know what to expect. This is also a sad time for families, as they know the end is near and may not remember how to live without that special person. Hospice admission often brings out these unpleasant emotions, as everything hospice and end of life entails is being discussed, DNRs signed, comfort meds brought into the home, etc. Eve comforted my family and myself during the process, as well as all of our other patients whom she blesses daily. This woman deserves all the recognition in the world as she is truly doing God’s work. I cannot thank Eve enough for all that she does and has done for my family. Thank you, Eve!
