Ethel is phenomenal! From the moment she introduced herself to my husband (who was the patient) and to the family and friends present with us, she made it plain through her cordiality and knowledge that she takes her job and the welfare of the patient seriously and with the utmost care and compassion.

Not only did she keep us well informed of my husband’s status and welfare, but she worked the entire lobby inquiring how everyone was, making sure their needs were met, providing snacks, directing us to the cafeteria with coupons, and providing assurance during the wait for the surgeon to say, “All went well.” 

I believe that due to her respect and concern, not overdoing her contacts but being present just enough to give the assurance that she was keeping up with my husband’s progress in the surgery room, it made the six-hour wait pleasant and endurable.

Additionally, this nurse made certain that information about the ICU was shared with us and what to expect. It was a seamless experience from the time we met her until he transferred to the ICU. Her overall demeanor is professional and caring. If we had any doubts about Research Hospital prior to the surgery, they were eliminated during the surgery.
