She answers any questions with great patience, treats you as she would her own family member, and makes every day a better one for all her patients.
I have been a Baylor breast cancer patient since September 2022. I am so very thankful for Nurse Ese. She is an extremely hard-working, diligent nurse, who performs all her duties with empathy and caring. Nurse Ese is a quiet, warm, sincerely gifted nurse. No task or worry is too small for her to address. She is always willing to listen and give you a helping hand. She answers any questions with great patience, treats you as she would her own family member, and makes every day a better one for all her patients. Nurse Ese is a true leader and problem solver. Her willingness to go the extra mile to resolve difficult situations for her patients is a source of support and comfort throughout my cancer journey at Baylor.

Nurse Ese has eased my cancer journey innumerable times in the past 10 months. Here are just a few examples: I live about an hour and a half drive away from Baylor. When an appointment had to be changed at the last minute, Ese called to fit my other visits (lab, infusion, EKG, etc) into the new schedule, so I would only have to drive into Houston once. Even though it was last minute, and she is busy with many patients, she is never too busy to help.

Shortly after my mastectomy, just before beginning chemotherapy for stage 3 breast cancer, scans indicated that my cancer had metastasized. My treatment plan was turned on its head. Chemotherapy was no longer an option. I needed a targeted therapy medication that my insurance company was going to take a long time to review. I was terrified. Nurse Ese stepped in, working tirelessly and diligently, to get me sample treatment while my insurance got sorted out. She called to consistently update me on the insurance situation, to ask if there was anything else she could do for me, and to make sure that I was doing okay. When the insurance company continued to request multiple copies of paperwork, and misconstrued what was happening in the approval process my anxiety was sky-high. Nurse Ese called me to inform me what was happening and to reassure me that all the necessary paperwork had been sent from Baylor. Her kindness and communication skills, reduced that anxiety and helped me breathe again.

More recently, when the lab drew the wrong blood vials it was Nurse Ese who called me, had me come in and accompanied me downstairs to make sure that the correct replacement vials were drawn and shipped out. On a second occasion, when the lab sent my tissue sample to the wrong lab, Even though she had not created the problem, Nurse Ese was the first person to apologize and take it upon herself to resolve the situation.

This intrinsic drive to do the best thing for her patients makes Nurse Ese beloved among her patients and her co-workers alike. Nurse Ese is a source of strength, joy, and confidence for all her patients. She is always smiling, happy, and willing to go over and above, to make sure that patients are taken care of. I hope that you will recognize the stellar job she does, and the amazingly caring, loving, wonderful nurse she is.
