My sister was in the ICU at Medical City Lewisville Hospital and we had to stop care on her because she wasn’t going to recover. We didn’t expect for her to become sick because she has always been very healthy, so we were so heartbroken when the doctor said she had too much damage to the brain to be able to wake up or breathe on her own. When my family decided to stop care, Erynn explained so well what we needed to expect when they took out her breathing tube. She reassured us she would not be in any pain or anxiety. She comforted our family, but we also had some family drama that made it so that I was not able to be in the room during the moment my sister was passing away. I was very upset by this, but Erynn came and found me in the hallway and comforted me on one of the worst days I’ve ever had. She also made sure I was able to come say goodbye to my sister. She treated all of us like family, but especially me, and I’ll always be thankful for her and remember her always for that and for how she cared for my sister the last two days of her life.
