My 93-year-old father was taken to the ER in Urbana after a fall. He was brought to St. Joseph Medical Center on the 3rd floor, over an hour away from home, since there were no rooms in Urbana. He ended up being at the end of life, and we knew he wasn't coming home. The added pressure of being so far away from home, especially for my 90-year-old mother, was challenging. During the 6 days, we encountered so many wonderful members of staff. Everyone demonstrated the utmost care and concern for all of us. Ernestina was a wonderful, caring, and compassionate caregiver. She took time to ease his anxiety and let him rest. We felt Ernestina went above her duty and was always available. Thank you!
