Erin was assigned to my mom’s room following the placement of two stents. She was checking various aspects of my mom’s care and noticed the start of a bulge in her abdomen/pelvic area. She continued to observe it and decided to check with the charge nurse, and then I believe she placed a call to the doctor. It turned out to be a serious situation of blood leaking into the pelvic area, and it involved the Cath Lab team and the doctor stopping the bleeding. I noticed various people congratulating Erin on catching the subtle beginning of the issue. I did not realise earlier that it was unusual to be able to notice this change. We are very appreciative of the care my mother received following the incident, thanks to Erin noticing that a problem was beginning to develop.
