Eric Wright, BSN, RN
I was at work and code merted with the worst migraine of my life. Eric came to check on me when he heard I was unwell. He noted decreased LOC and called a MERT/Stroke. The whole experience was daunting, but Eric remained calm and acted with precision and speed.
I felt safe with him there, and so appreciated him keeping me updated step by step. He strongly advocated for me, stayed by my side until I was stabilized, and rounded on me multiple times. I've always said Eric is my nurse if I'm admitted, and this experience solidifies that. With pain of eight and decreased LOC, and numbness, I was laughing at his jokes as he made the situation less daunting, made me less scared, and made the situation a story, not a trauma.
There are few nurses as passionate, capable, and sweet as him. He even checked on me the next day to make sure I was okay. My life, Methodist, and the world are immensely improved by his mere existence.
