When Eric brings patients to the units following surgery, he is compassionate with the staff and the patients he is caring for.
Eric has worked for many years at Covenant Medical Center. Most of my experience has been when Eric has worked as an RN/CN in PACU. Most recently, he has moved into a Nursing Supervisor role in the same department. Eric has really embraced his new role and leads by example with this staff and the staff on the units when he is bringing back patients after surgery.
We recently had a patient who was really struggling and was very anxious about returning to surgery. She was late for her procedure, and Eric stayed late and recovered this patient himself. He even provided her with a small figurine. When I went to visit the next day, she had the figurine sitting out and told me about Eric. This is true leadership.
Over the years, Eric has shown his leadership skills even when not in the official role. When Eric brings patients to the units following surgery, he is compassionate with the staff and the patients he is caring for. Eric is patient and kind when we call him for advice or clinical information about the patients he has brought up. I do not personally work in the same department as Eric, but I am privileged to work alongside him as a leader at CMC. He often takes patients to lighten the load for his staff. He listens when a concerned issue is sent to him and is proactive in his determination to find solutions. Eric has worked hard at our facility to make sure it is the best it can be.
He works outside the hospital in sports and with the schools. Eric volunteers and represents Covenant very well within the community. He is certified in his field of practice and encourages others to do the same. Overall, I have been so blessed to work with Eric over the years, but most recently I have been so impressed with his leadership skills and honest desire to ensure our patients and their families are well cared for. When I think of a leader, I look for someone who will work beside me, someone who inspires me to be my best. I believe this is the type of leader that Eric has become. Thank you, Eric, for all you do for Covenant Medical Center.
