She was there for me the whole time, talked to me to comfort me, answered any questions I had, and helped me walk when I needed to go anywhere.
I am a 21-year-old female who has been coming into the ER over 2-3 months now, and I have had the most amazing nurse up there at Scenic Mountain; her name was Emily. She was the best nurse I could ever ask for! I say that because I went into the ER for very very bad lower back pain. It turned out to be a kidney stone I had stuck, and boy oh boy let me tell you I was the biggest baby when it came to the kidney stone pain, but did Emily care? No, she stayed by me through it. She talked to me about her experience with stones she had before and was just talking to me about anything to keep my mind off of what was going on.
The second time coming to the ER, she was there again, and it was for the same pain with my stone. She was there for me the whole time, talked to me to comfort me, answered any questions I had, and helped me walk when I needed to go anywhere. She could even help put on the socks she gave me at the hospital.
I then came again to the hospital but this time for my surgery I was in a lot of pain that am when I went to register and guess who saw me in pain Nurse Emily! She was there, grabbed a wheelchair, and took me upstairs until the day surgery took over, heck she even checked up on me after my own surgery. She didn’t have to do that, but she did. Why? Because she is an amazing nurse!
I recently just came into the hospital for almost ending my life, and I had a really good nurse at the beginning, but I saw nurse Emily again. She stopped in to say hello and took over and talked to me, making sure I was okay. She is honestly God's angel because this nurse cares about her job and people; she really is one of the best nurses I could ask for!
Note: This is Emily's 2nd DAISY Award!
