She made sure we were comfortable before, during, and after the procedure. By the end of the night, if you hadn’t known, it’d look like we were friends.
My wife had a heart ablation recently. Emily was very friendly and great as she reviewed all of her information as we chatted and joked a bit.
My wife’s procedure ran about an hour and a half past schedule and we were told the recovery time in the hospital would be up to four hours instead of the two hours we were initially told.
After they finally got her into the operating room, Emily swung back to me to ask if I wanted something to eat, to which she brought me an uncrustable, chips, and water to tide me over, which was very kind and considerate.
After the procedure was over, the recovery timeline went back to two hours much to our relief. Emily swung back to check on how my wife’s procedure went before her shift was over and went home.
Emily was absolutely amazing. She made sure we were comfortable before, during, and after the procedure. By the end of the night, if you hadn’t known, it’d look like we were friends.
We could probably do with a lot more Emilys in nursing who treats patients the way treated us and I hope her work is recognized with this award.
