I came here for alcohol withdrawal. Emily made me feel so comfortable. In the past, hospital staff have treated me with no empathy and judgment. I am a retired veteran with combat trauma. I served for 24 years, and I had a very successful career. I’m ashamed I ended up an alcoholic. Emily made me feel like I have worth. She checked on me constantly and made sure my medications were on time and my needs were met. Emily definitely deserves the DAISY Award. I wish there were more nurses like her. What a blessing Emily is to this unit.
