September 2026 Honoree
Emily Kruger, ADN
Emily had a patient who was going into a procedure, and they were extra nervous. They asked Emily if she could sing for them, and so she did. As he was being put to sleep for his procedure, she held his hand and sang him a song. She did not hesitate to help the patient, even with everyone watching.
To make this even more special, Emily had had a long day at work and had been battling combative patients who had threatened her. Even as exhausted as she was, she decided not to let that affect her patient care. Her singing was heard across the unit and commented on by multiple caregivers and patients.
After a rough day for the entire department, it not only calmed her patient down but soothed the whole unit.

Thank you, Emily, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
