Emily has repeatedly gone above and beyond with her clinical obligations to ensure the best patient care possible since joining our team last year-Today, Emily demonstrated her nursing excellence once again.

One of our patients and his wife have struggled at the end of life over the past 3 months with balancing care burden, symptoms, and young children in the setting of stage 4 lung cancer. Emily established a wonderful rapport with the family during this time through many discussions and visits with the patient and his wife. Today, she visited the patient and his wife in the ICU on two separate occasions, providing invaluable continuity of care and support to the family in a challenging situation.

She provided guidance and education on end-of-life care. Given her relationship with the family, she even offered to help facilitate a difficult conversation with the palliative care team, which everyone greatly appreciated. Emily's calm, reassuring, insightful, and sensitive disposition at the bedside proved invaluable to both the family and providers.
