We would describe Emily’s care as above and beyond. She often spent extra time allowing us to share in special moments, such as bathing our baby. She surprised us with milestones on several occasions, like our baby’s first outfit and removing his feeding tube. Emily’s clinical skills are incredible - she promptly caught an irregular heart rhythm on our baby from his heart monitor, which we later learned is not easy to spot & she has a specific gift for catching. Her assessments were beyond thorough, and she was always advocating for our baby.

The most special thing about Emily is how she cared for our son throughout his NICU stay. We heard the way she spoke to him when we were behind closed doors, the way she sang to him while providing his care, and even the nickname she called him by. Her compassion meant the world to us. On the rare occasion Emily was working, but did not have our baby, she came to check on him. She even taught us to breastfeed for the first time, which was a moment I will cherish forever. We looked forward to visiting when we knew Emily was working, and felt comfortable while away, knowing our baby was in her care. Emily cared for our baby, but for us as well. Thank you is nowhere near enough, but we have to share how grateful we are for her care.
