I was having my first child; the birth was uncomplicated, and my baby is healthy! However, it was found that because of my blood type, it was missed in the prenatal blood work that I was actually rh-negative when my baby was positive. I had previous labs that showed differently. I was told that I had to get RhoGAM within the next 24 hours or all future children that I would conceive would have a higher chance of miscarriage. It was very confusing and stressful getting conflicting information and having to make a snap decision about something so serious.

Emily was my nurse in the postpartum unit who really stepped up to advocate for me and got the right people to review my treatment and get me the thorough explanation I needed to feel good about my decision. They double-checked my blood work and had it reviewed by the head of histopathology. Then the head resident doctor came in to give me the rundown of my case. A situation I was told by multiple other medical staff on the unit was only seen maybe twice in 25+ years of their nursing careers. Emily was patient with me, explaining everything and making sure all bases were covered, and was considerate of my feelings. Getting me the care I needed in one of the most vulnerable and stressful times of my life, so I could focus on my little girl joining the world and safeguarding the future children I hope to have. My family and I won’t forget her kindness and hope to go back to the same hospital for our future children!

Emily played a vital role in shaping our experience as first-time parents, and her impact on our family was profound.

Emily is an incredibly knowledgeable and skilled nurse who delivers care with warmth, patience, and genuine kindness. She took the time to thoroughly explain every aspect of care, answered all our questions thoughtfully, and never made us feel rushed or hesitant to ask for support. Her teaching was clear, empowering, and tailored to our needs, helping us feel confident as we learned to care for our newborn.

What truly set Emily apart was her calm, reassuring presence. During a time filled with emotion, exhaustion, and uncertainty, Emily brought steadiness and encouragement. She anticipated our needs, checked in frequently, and ensured both my recovery and our daughters' care were progressing smoothly. Her attention to detail and advocacy for our comfort and well-being were exceptional. Emily treated our family with respect, empathy, and compassion in every interaction. She recognized how important those early postpartum days are and approached her role with a level of care that went far beyond expectations.

Because of Emily, we felt supported, informed, and truly cared for during such a transformative time. We are incredibly grateful for Emily’s care and feel fortunate to have had her by our side as we welcomed our daughter into the world.
