I am honored to recognize Emily for her exceptional patient care.

Emily consistently goes above and beyond to ensure her patients feel heard, respected, and cared for during their most vulnerable moments. She always shows kindness and listens attentively, not only to the patients but to their families.

I was assigned to receive a patient from Emily. When I entered the room to get report, she was updating the patient's wife on delays and involving her in his care as much as possible.

The wife had nothing but good praise for the exemplary care that Emily had provided to her husband.

There was very little I had to do because of the outstanding care she had already provided. It's always an honor to receive her reports and provide continuation of care to her patients.

Emily exemplifies what it means to provide holistic, patient-centered care.

The patient I received from Emily had a fever of 104.8, a WBC of 15,000, was septic, confused, and very ill. Emily had provided him excellent care, including 2 IVs, 3 liters of fluids, antibiotics, ice therapy for his fever, and a Foley catheter.

By the time he was transferred, he was fully alert and oriented. The patient even stated he felt better and was very talkative. He even recognized one of the ICU nurses by name.

Emily's compassion and professionalism leave a lasting impact on everyone she encounters.

She is a shining example of the values the DAISY Award represents, and she is more than deserving of this recognition.
