He always made sure to mention the name Emily, and I could always tell that meant it was going to be a great day for him.
My brother recently spent a few days on the 5th floor in the north tower during his recovery from a broken shoulder and hip. Although I never made it there to visit him, I spoke to him multiple times daily. Each time I spoke to him, it was clear from his voice and overall attitude towards the day when Emily was working the floor. He always made sure to mention the name Emily, and I could always tell that meant it was going to be a great day for him. Sometimes, a nice smiling face is all a patient needs to make a difference!! Based on how I could see she made my brother feel during this time, Emily strongly deserves to be considered for the DAISY Award!

We all know being stuck in the hospital is never an ideal situation. All I can say is that Nurse Emily always made the day seem bright. She was friendly and caring and always handled each and every interaction with a smile. This just makes all the difference in the world when laid up in the hospital. I also understand that the nurse’s job is by no means an easy task, and many patients may be difficult to deal with at times. Just one more reason why Emily, a sweet girl with a great attitude and always wearing a smile on her face should be considered for the DAISY Award!

My dad had fallen and broke his hip and shoulder. Landed on the 5th floor for a few days. Although he enjoyed all his nurses during his stay, none lit up his day like Emily. It's never fun being admitted into a hospital and not the best place to visit. So, when you have a specific nurse that lights up your day, it's a HUGE win for the patient and family. Emily was sweet, patient and caring towards all my dad's needs, and he always seemed to have plenty. Then there was the charging his phone for him, and the day before he was released, Emily actually stopped and bought him a phone charger. Overall, she helped make his stay the best it could be!
