Emilee is kind, patient, and makes all the veterans feel safe. She has always taken the time to check on me and make sure I am doing okay and that she is there for me if I need anything. I mentioned to her that my front tooth cap broke and that I was embarrassed by my missing front tooth. Emilee arranged for me to get an order to be seen by the dentist and advocated for me because the next available appointment was not for two months. She went above and beyond by calling the dental clinic every day that she worked because she knew it was important to me. Her persistence paid off, and one day, when she called, there was a cancellation. I ended up being able to be seen a month sooner than expected. I cannot express how much this meant to me and how happy it made me.

What may seem like a simple act of calling the dental clinic actually made a really big difference for me. I cannot say enough about how kind and caring Emilee is. She genuinely cares, and it shows. She follows the ICARE Values every single day. Emilee displays Integrity in all that she does. She is always professional and makes veterans feel comfortable to openly talk to her, and that we can trust her. Her Commitment and drive to always work in the veterans' best interest are evident in my personal story. She is the best veteran Advocate, always pushing and working in the veterans' best interest. She treats everyone with Respect, no matter what the circumstance is or how they treat her. Emilee displays Excellence by providing the best possible care to all veterans, no matter what. Her thoughtfulness on how the missing tooth made me feel embarrassed and her relentless pursuit to ensure I get the earliest appointment show what an excellent and caring nurse she is. I really hope that sharing my story will show how Emilee affects all veterans with excellent care.
