November 2025, I came to bring some things to my friend, X, who was planning her Death with Dignity at our home. Because of her terminal cancer in her intestinal tract, she was unable to drink anything; the DWD doctor figured out another way, but it required some special care in order for it all to be successful. I did my best to stay strong and keep a good face. My friend was very worried and stressed that the "plan" might fail. I talked with Ellen, and she came to our rescue. I think she was the Charge Nurse that evening. She spoke with 2 other nurses to make sure my friend got what she needed and carefully reviewed the DWD plan. I said goodbye to my friend, left her room, and lost my composure. As I stood in the hallway crying, Ellen saw me, came over, and gave me the best hug! Ellen not only took great care of my friend, but also me. Ellen held me as I wept and was very comforting and so compassionate. Ellen exceeds all of your criteria. I made it through that long night thanks to Ellen. May God bless her and all of your nurses!

Thank you, Ellen, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
