Ellen helped manage our expectations for Dad’s final day, and her realism and knowledge were greatly appreciated, making an overwhelming amount of information digestible and relatable.
I want to express my gratitude for the phenomenal level of support I received from Ellen, who helped me understand Dad’s end-of-life care. I was given the news that Dad’s decline from cancer was rapidly increasing and that we should expect him to pass away within a few days. At the time, I was in the hospital alone with no other family with me as I digested the news. Ellen went above and beyond to help me manage the shock that Dad was declining and that he had a day or so to live. I will never forget the kindness she displayed. Despite Dad’s death being a traumatic experience, I have been able to take solace in moments of care like this, where a stranger can have such a positive impact during such a tough time. I believe Ellen is a huge role model, and if everyone displayed this level of care, understanding, and empathy, the world would be a drastically better place. Ellen helped manage our expectations for Dad’s final day, and her realism and knowledge were greatly appreciated, making an overwhelming amount of information digestible and relatable. She stayed late and kept making sure I was okay, and I’ll be forever grateful. She deserves a medal, but I hope you will choose her for this recognition at the very least. Thank you so much.
