Liz deserves to be recognized with a DAISY Award for the extraordinary compassion, patience, and care she showed while taking care of my daughter during one of the hardest journeys of her life.

My daughter received her heart transplant and experienced several bumps in the road during her recovery. Through every challenge, Liz remained a calm, reassuring presence for both her and our family.

Not only did Liz make sure my daughter's medical needs were met, but she also took the time to truly care for her as a person. She patiently helped my daughter understand what was happening during difficult moments, answered questions, eased fears, and helped keep her calm when things felt overwhelming. Liz made healing, physically and emotionally, a priority every single day.

One moment that especially stood out was when Liz noticed how much my daughter was struggling with her hair after spending so much time in the hospital. Without hesitation, Liz carefully detangled, washed, and braided her hair, giving her what felt like a complete spa day treatment. It may seem small to some, but in that moment Liz gave her comfort, dignity, confidence, and a sense of normalcy during an incredibly difficult time.

These are the things that often go unnoticed in healthcare, yet they mean everything to patients and families. Liz showed that nursing is not only about treatments and medications; it is about compassion, kindness, advocacy, and caring for the whole person.

We will never forget the love, patience, and attention Liz gave my daughter. She made a frightening and emotional experience easier to face, and her impact on our family will last forever.

Liz is everything a nurse should be, and she is so deserving of this recognition.
