Elizabeth is amazing. Our daughter was flown out of our home hospital on a Monday, and I was not able to be discharged until Wednesday. My husband had to stay with her during the two days I couldn't be there. I was so nervous on the two-hour drive down to TriStar since I hadn't had the chance to be there those days, and I was on the verge of tears when I walked into the NICU. It was so overwhelming. I hadn't gotten to even see my daughter, with the exception of from a distance, prior to her being taken to the helicopter. When I walked into the NICU, Elizabeth met me with a warm smile and a greeting, offering reassurances. She eased all my anxieties immediately. She updated me on my daughter's progress and answered every question I had. She consistently checked on us and our daughter through her shift, going above and beyond what she had to do. Any need we had was met. The following days, she continued to come in and check on us even though we weren't her patients at that time. She even entertained my four-year-old and made him feel welcomed and at ease after seeing his sister intubated. Liz is extraordinary, compassionate, and all the things a nurse should be. We can't thank her enough for helping take care of our daughter during such a stressful time. She knows how to make a difference!
