Eliza Deckard, BSN, RN
Eliza Deckard is a new NPD, but you'd never know it by the way she takes on tasks and new things. Eliza took on ED Core 1 and resigned it to meet the feedback given from past classes and spends 8 hours with the new nurses to get them prepared for the ED.
Eliza has had a profound impact on both the professional growth of our nursing staff and the quality of care delivered to our patients. She possesses a unique ability to build confidence, develop clinical expertise, and inspire nurses to reach their full potential.
During trauma activations, resuscitations, and other complex patient situations, Eliza frequently provides real-time coaching and debriefing. She helps staff understand not only what happened, but why certain interventions were performed, turning every patient encounter into a learning opportunity. Her ability to connect clinical practice with evidence-based education has improved both nurse confidence and patient care outcomes.
Beyond individual mentorship, Eliza routinely identifies educational needs, develop meaningful learning experiences, and collaborate with leaders to ensure staff have the knowledge and resources needed to deliver safe, high-quality care. Her influence can be seen in the confidence, competence, and professionalism of the nursing team.
Our Emergency Department is stronger because of her presence, and there is no one more deserving of this recognition.
