The day my dad was to get discharged, he called home, very happy and excited to come home! Once we got to the hospital, he was agitated and very upset. He pulled his IV out, going to the bathroom accidentally, so when they had to put another one in, he got upset and discouraged.

He had bladder cancer, and they removed the tumor, so he had to urinate without the catheter prior to leaving. He was very discouraged at this point. Dulce had him sit on the side of the bed and just talked to him about what the staff had to do to make sure that once he left, he wouldn't have to come back. Then she took him on a walk to get a new view, and he came back with a new perspective!

He said, "I needed that." She has been kind, caring, helpful, and just goes above and beyond for her patients. You are lucky to have her.
