By treating me with kindness and respect, Dorela helps to preserve my sense of self-worth and dignity, even in vulnerable situations.
Compassion: Dorela leads with compassion! When she is my nurse, she takes the extra time to sit with me when I’m anxious about my treatment (or life in general!). She listens attentively to my concerns, provides reassurance, and explains things in a calm and comforting manner. In addition to the medical care, Dorela shows empathy by acknowledging my fears and offering emotional support. This makes me feel more at ease and cared for, not just physically but emotionally as well. Compassion in this instance goes beyond fulfilling professional duties—it helps build trust and improves my overall experience.
Justice: As the Nurse Manager, Dorela advocates for equal treatment for all patients, regardless of their background, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. She works diligently to address any systemic biases in the Medical Treatment Center, striving to ensure that all patients have access to the same high standard of care.
Excellence: Dorela not only strives to have the best nurses that Swedish has to offer, but she ensures that every patient that enters the MTC receives the best care. She puts safeguards in place to make sure that her nurses are up to date on the latest policies and procedures, as well as the appropriate ways to emotionally connect with their patients.
Dignity: When she is my nurse, Dorela always ensures that my privacy is respected with care. She communicates respectfully, addressing me by my name and listening to my concerns with full attention. This, in turn, makes me feel valued and respected. By treating me with kindness and respect, Dorela helps to preserve my sense of self-worth and dignity, even in vulnerable situations.
Integrity: Dorela is committed to ensuring the overall success of the MTC. She follows the ethical path of honesty and accountability, ensuring patient safety. By always telling the truth and doing what is right, Dorela upholds the trust patients place in the healthcare system and demonstrates a commitment to doing what is right, regardless of personal or professional challenges. These acts of integrity ensure patient well-being and reinforce the nurse’s commitment to high standards of care.

Every time I enter the MTC for treatment, I am never afraid that I am going to leave sicker than when I came in.
