After a difficult third pregnancy, including gestational diabetes, anemia, preeclampsia, the flu, blood clots, and a broken rib, my daughter was exhausted. She was scheduled for her third C-section. After two not-great experiences with her first two deliveries out-of-state, she was determined to have a good experience and to breastfeed.

The entire team at Riverton, from EVS, phlebotomy, and the techs, but especially the nurses, have been amazing. Specifically Dixie right after her surgery. She was an extraordinary woman and was one of the most compassionate, capable, and respectful nurses I’ve ever seen. Not only was she an active listener to my daughter’s needs, but she went above and beyond to make sure she had a great experience and helped her tremendously with techniques and hacks to prioritize her breastfeeding goals. It was such a refreshing change to see staff that functioned so well as a team, were active listeners, and prioritized the patient's needs. Dixie, E, and B are definitely the embodiment of the DAISY Award. My words can’t do them justice. The impact they have had on my daughter reminds me of the pebble in the pond
