I came to the emergency room terrified, experiencing severe chest pain and desperately wanting to know what was wrong. When my blood test results came back high, the ER team immediately alerted cardiology. In that moment of intense fear, I was directly referred to the cardiac unit; Nurse Ditty stepped in. She didn't see me as just a medical case; she saw my family. She immediately went to my wife, offering her the psychological and emotional strength she so desperately needed while we waited for answers.
