Today, Diane floated to our unit. She cared for a patient who was being discharged to hospice. Unbeknownst to me, she had cared for this patient’s brother in her home unit the day prior. The patient had shared with her that his brother was not doing well and was also admitted to LRH.

Diane was able to piece this puzzle together to connect the family. Today, Diane brought her patient, who was being discharged, to visit his brother in her home unit. This was a very compassionate and caring act. Had Diane not floated today, this visit between two brothers may not have ever occurred; she was the link between them.
