From the moment Diana walked in, I immediately felt comforted that I was in good hands.

Diana's passion for nursing radiates through her and I am very thankful I was able to have her as my nurse. From the moment she walked in, I immediately felt comforted that I was in good hands. My veins are extremely sensitive and require a PICC line to receive iv antibiotics. One of the two lines became clogged and unable to use. It was unusable for several days and I became very nervous as I was preparing to be discharged to a skilled nursing facility and was worried I wouldn't be able to utilize my picc line correctly. She immediately contacted my doctor to order the medication that would unclog the line. It worked beautifully and now my picc line is better than ever.

My illness is currently undiagnosed and has been very difficult to try and manage. When Diana first arrived, she came with a pen and paper and asked for some of my medical history ready to take notes. She helped me brainstorm questions to ask my doctor when he did his rounds to help me advocate for myself. My husband was visiting when the nurse had initially come on shift, and he was so taken back by how much she truly cared. I didn't feel like just another patient that she had to take care of in a hurry. I felt like she cared about my illness as if it was her own and the kindness she showed me during her shift is more than I have ever experienced during the last few years of my health problems.

You can tell that Diana has had extensive experience and she shared with me what the different pins on her name badge stand for. She has a lot of continued education and her eagerness to learn and try something new is very admirable. She has worked in many different units throughout UCSD and I'm so glad that other people have gotten to experience the love and compassion she has for her job and extend it to others.

Thank you for treating me so well and helping me during a very vulnerable time. You are amazing please don't ever change!!
