I was admitted to EMMC suffering from acute NMO and was quickly moved to Grant 6 to start plasma pheresis. While the pheresis team was all amazing, Delight was an angel. She and I shared our stories of the love we both have for hiking during my treatments. I am a girl who no longer has my mom. Delight went above and beyond to listen to me cry and answered all the questions I had that she could. If she couldn't, she found someone who could.

She checked on me throughout the day when she was on shift. She walked me when no one else was available when I wanted to walk. She made sure I had food ordered. She was attentive to the need to be sterile around my port.

Towards the end of my stay, when things were adding up and my anxiety was high, tears were flowing. I was scared, didn't know what some things meant, and certainly didn't know what my future held. Delight was there. She took time out of her busy day to be a nurse and comforted me while I cried it out. She told me how to advocate for myself. And how to get the best care I can get.

In that moment, sitting on the edge of my bed, tears running down my cheeks, I looked at her and said, "Thank you for being my mom when I needed one most." You are beyond blessed to have someone like Delight in your employ. She was the absolute best nurse I had during my 12 days there. She is not only an amazing nurse, but also an amazing human.
