I am honored to nominate nurse Deenah for the DAISY Nurse Award in recognition of the exceptional care, compassion, and leadership she demonstrated while caring for my father. From the moment she became involved in his care, Deenah treated him with gentle kindness, dignity, and respect. She took the time to get to know him as a person, not just as a patient. Her warm bedside manner immediately put him at ease, and she formed a meaningful connection with him that brought comfort during a difficult and uncertain time. She listened carefully to his concerns, encouraged him, and always made him feel heard and valued.
What stood out most was her remarkable ability to combine excellence with heartfelt compassion. Her nursing skills were outstanding. She anticipated his needs, communicated clearly with me, and handled every aspect of his care with confidence, professionalism, and attention to detail. Her calm presence and expertise gave us confidence that he was receiving the highest quality of care.
As a leader, she set an example for everyone around her. She fostered trust, encouraged teamwork, and consistently demonstrated the highest standards of nursing practice. Her compassion extended beyond my father, offering reassurance, answering our questions with patience, and helping me navigate a very emotional experience.
The care my father received from nurse Deenah made an immeasurable difference in his experience and in mine.
