Her smile is constant, her spirit contagious, and her contributions to our hospital are loud and lasting. She is the pillar we lean on, the role model we aspire to, and the heart of our nursing community.
There are leaders who manage, and then there are leaders who transform. Debbie is the latter—a force of nature whose impact reverberates through every hallway, every nurse, and every leader touched by her work.

From her early days as an Emergency Department nurse to her current role as Nursing Professional Development Director, she has never stopped leading with heart. Her transparency is refreshing, her ideas bold, and her presence is unforgettable. She’s a loud thinker—her thoughts are shared freely, sparking innovation and inviting collaboration. She doesn’t just welcome change; she champions it.

What sets her apart is her emotional intelligence. She understands you—not just your words, but your silences. A shift in your eyes, a flicker in your expression, and she knows something’s off. She’ll check in, adjust, and make space for you.

Her flexibility is legendary. She finds schedules that work for everyone, ensuring that no one is left behind. If you raise a concern, she doesn’t just listen—she offers solutions. Not one, but many. She’s a problem-solver, a bridge-builder, and a safe harbor.

Whenever I see her, I feel motivated to do something for the unit. Her energy is contagious; her presence is uplifting. She inspires action—not through pressure, but through purpose.

She trains with passion and corrects with grace. Her professional guidance is never harsh—always kind, always constructive. She carries us like newborns, teaches us like toddlers, and celebrates our growth like a proud mentor.

Her work with Magnet accreditation reflects her commitment to excellence, but her true legacy is in the nurses she’s uplifted.

I am an international nurse. She saw me once—just once—and the next time, she called me by name. I was stunned. That moment told me everything: she carries us in her heart. She gave me the opportunity to grow and made me feel seen, valued, and capable.

Her smile is constant, her spirit contagious, and her contributions to our hospital are loud and lasting. She is the pillar we lean on, the role model we aspire to, and the heart of our nursing community.

There are no strong enough words to thank her. But this is a start.
