Debbie was waiting at the door when C came in from post-op. She was very friendly, thorough, and professional in covering all of his concerns, health history, needs, and most importantly, helping to get his pain under control and keeping it at a manageable level. Throughout her shift, Debbie was consistent in making sure C was comfortable, explaining what he should expect, and she never left the room without asking if she could help him in any way.

Debbie went out of her way to make C comfortable by adjusting his position, adding pillows or towels, and calling the doctor to achieve better pain control. With each medication he was given, she made C aware of what medication he would be taking, the side effects, and how often he could have his pain medication and muscle relaxers, and most importantly, the need to ask for his pain medication or Tylenol before his pain was intolerable. She went above and beyond by helping C get up and ambulate even when physical therapy had left for the day. Debbie even made a trip to the cafeteria to find toothpicks for C.  With this simple and courteous act, it was obvious how compassionate Debbie is and how she truly cares about her patients.
