Deasha establishes a special professional connection with patients and families through trust and emotional support. She is at Shepherd even on her days off bringing her dog to the garden to cheer up her patients. Everyone loves her. She just brings joy and life to the whole unit because you can tell when she's not here. She has really advocated for TR and getting patients to go on outings and get out and about. She has developed several templates and supply kits for camping trips and would be anyone's "go to" person if you had any questions about nursing duties for an outing. She bought her own pulse oximetry, blood glucose monitor, and blood pressure cuff to take on outings. You just know she cares about everyone she comes into contact with. Not to mention she is an excellent educator of patients and their families, and nurse interns/externs. Deasha generates enthusiasm and energy towards meeting the challenges of nursing, and provides a vision of hope!
