She truly went above and beyond all afternoon — advocating for her, communicating clearly with the doctors, and making sure nothing was overlooked.
Deanna has truly been a blessing during a very difficult time for our family. From the moment she walked into the room, her attitude shifted the whole atmosphere. She didn't just come in to "do her job"-- she came in with heart, patience, and a calm confidence that instantly made my aunt A feel safer and cared for. Throughout the day, Deanna kept checking on her, explaining every little step, making sure she was comfortable, and catching things before they became problems. She noticed when my aunt was in pain without us saying a word and took action right away. She helped reposition her gently, adjusted the cords and IV lines that were bothering her, and even made sure she stayed warm and clean when she was too weak to move.
At one point, my aunt was crying from discomfort and frustration, and Deanne sat right beside her, held her hand, and spoke to her with so much compassion that my aunt finally relaxed. It was like she gave her permission to breathe again. Not everyone has that gift. When something came undone, and the machine started alarming, she didn't panic. She handled it quickly, talked us through what was happening, and reassured my aunt with so much grace. She truly went above and beyond all afternoon — advocating for her, communicating clearly with the doctors, and making sure nothing was overlooked. We could see how smart, intuitive, and experienced she is. But even more than that, she cared--really cared-- and that made all the difference. She treated my aunt A as if she were her own family. We are so grateful for her. Nurses like Deanne change everything, and today she made our day better.
