I began to lose my breath and bodily functions and she helped me and sat with me telling me how to breathe and I was immediately calmed.
I have been living with Crohn’s disease and COPD. I fell in my home and came to Southwest for treatment. I am honored to have met Dayna. She stands out because she wants to learn how to make her patients feel comforted in any way. If I had any questions and she didn’t know the answer, she would always find out. I have different pieces of equipment I use for my Crohn’s and COPD to help me breathe. Respiratory normally cares for patients who use a Bi-Pap but Dayna decided it couldn’t hurt for her to know how to operate it just in case. I told Dayna how much I panic when I can’t breathe. I began to lose my breath and bodily functions and she helped me and sat with me telling me how to breathe and I was immediately calmed. It is scary when I can’t breathe and Dayna made me feel like I was a person she had known and cared for all her life. We all have gone through so much with Covid. The front-line workers have been through so much more than anyone should go through and I am grateful for nurses like Dayna who are determined to be there for her patients. Thank you and God bless all of you.
