Years ago, I worked with Dawn Colon on the evening shift on Labor and Delivery. I was always grateful to Dawn for being present and supportive. There were numerous instances when I needed help in the room, and before I was able to call out, Dawn responded.

Of course, seeing her diligence, I appreciated her as my colleague. Later, with time, I would grow to call her my friend. I couldn't help but admire her as a person because of how valuable she is as a colleague. Last week, we had a postpartum hemorrhage on Labor and Delivery, and would you know it, Dawn was present and supporting us with helping hands.

She helped by teaching my coworkers how to set up the baby warmer in the main OR prior to the cesarean, through the hemorrhage after delivery. Dawn is an amazing colleague and person! I was so glad that she took the education position because I felt she was a potted plant that needed to expand. I feel she is shining brighter than ever (as evidenced by her neon smile).

I just needed to tell you how grateful I was, as we all were that day, to have her help in such an emergent situation.
