I have always had the utmost confidence in Dawn and how she said things, making me comfortable, but I've especially enjoyed her sense of humor that is like mine; it feels better. That's compassion! She's on top of things, she cares about the patients, and she's efficient! Dawn's a team player and reliable; patients and teammates can count on her without a doubt.
Dawn consistently demonstrates what Service Excellence looks like in action. From helping manage labor and daily DPC, to managing the teammate schedule while her boss was away at Village-wide, telling patients what they need to hear even when they may not want to hear it, and ensuring our clinic runs smoothly and efficiently.
Dawn doesn't just show up — she shows leadership. Whether it’s rescheduling patients, completing weekly counts and ordering, or staying on top of fluid management, she takes ownership of the details that keep our patients safe and our operations strong.
Dawn leads with Integrity and Trust. They willingly take on extra — but necessary — work without hesitation. Her commitment builds confidence within the team, and that trust allows us to function at a higher level.
What truly sets Dawn apart is her heart for our patients and teammates. Knowing who our focus patients are and understanding exactly what we are doing to support them — whether it's improving fluid management, reducing missed treatments, managing transportation needs, or ensuring all patients achieve adequacy. That level of awareness reflects Continuous Improvement and true clinical partnership.
She also fosters Team and Fulfillment by encouraging new PCTs on the treatment floor, remaining positive during busy days, and being present and supportive during clinical calls. Her mindset helps us push through challenges together.
She helps leadership anticipate future roadblocks and proactively prepare solutions. That kind of forward thinking strengthens not just our clinic, but our entire village.
Most importantly, she does all of this while staying grounded, positive, and focused on doing the right thing for our patients and for each other. Dawn truly embodies the DaVita Core Values — especially Service Excellence and Accountability, to name a few.
It is my absolute pleasure to recognize Dawn with the DAISY Award. She is beyond deserving and has not once been recognized for anything. I know this would mean a lot to her.
