I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion I received during my recent visit to David Grant Medical Center. I had scheduled an appointment for a Prolia shot, but unfortunately, I suffered a fall in the hospital hallway.
A1C Daria Ayala provided me with immediate care and reassurance, staying by my side through the ordeal. While I don’t remember a whole lot about the situation after my fall, I do remember waking up in the hallway of the hospital, and when I opened my eyes, there were two eyes staring back at me. Later, I learned those two eyes belonged to A1C Daria Ayala. She assured me that everything was going to be okay, and she took her jacket off and slid it underneath my head.
I remember saying, please tell me those teeth lying on the floor are not mine. She said, “They are your teeth, but don’t you worry, it’s all going to be okay”. Her kindness, patience and professionalism were instrumental in keeping me calm and I am forever grateful.
My daughter and husband showed up at the ER after searching for me throughout the hospital. As A1C Ayala wheeled me back from CT to the ER, she greeted my husband and daughter. She remained calm and professional the entire time, which was extremely helpful to my husband, as he suffered from end-stage dementia. He was a bit panicked seeing me with five fewer teeth and a hurt arm.
My daughter was concerned about missing my appointment to receive my Prolia shot since it is time sensitive. A1C Ayala took the initiative to speak with the clinic to ensure I received my shot.
Additionally, I was also touched by A1C Ayala’s thoughtfulness when she visited my husband and me on the fourth floor less than a month later, during a difficult time for our family when my husband was placed on comfort care and passed away due to a massive heart attack. She could have walked on by our room, but she chose to stop by when she recognized us.
Thank you again, A1C Daria Ayala!
