I have been in the pain clinic twice for spinal nerve electro-ablation, and Nurse Darcy has been the person who welcomes me, catheterizes and preps me for this surgery, guides me into the OR, and is there the whole time. During both times, when the procedure created pain, I have felt her calming and reassuring hand on my back, calming me and allowing the procedure to progress more easily. She is the one who calls me to check in, both on the day after surgery and a few weeks later to see if it had its intended effect. She is a calm, positive person with strong skills, and I am grateful that she attends to me during and after these sessions. She smiles easily and is generous with her kindness. I wholeheartedly believe she deserves this award! The whole department’s staff is kind and caring, but this particular nurse stands out to me.
