There aren't enough words to describe what Danyel meant to our family during one of the scariest days of our lives. When my mother's condition suddenly became critical, everything felt like it was happening so fast. We were scared, overwhelmed, and didn't know what was coming next.

Through all of it, Danyel was our calm in the middle of the storm. She never left our side. She explained what was happening, answered every question with patience, and somehow made us feel like we weren't facing it alone.

What impressed me most was how quickly she recognized that my mom was getting worse. Before anyone else had to say a word, Danyel was already taking action. She moved with confidence and urgency, making sure my mother got the care she needed as quickly as possible. In such a terrifying moment, knowing someone so capable was watching over my mom gave us a sense of peace we desperately needed.

But what I'll remember most isn't just what Danyel did—it's how she made us feel. She cared about my mom like she was more than just another patient, and she cared about us too. She stayed with us, comforted us, and never made us feel like we were just another room on her shift. Her kindness, compassion, and genuine heart meant more than she'll probably ever know.

I truly hope no family ever has to experience what ours did. But if they do, I hope they have someone like Danyel standing beside them. She is the kind of nurse people never forget—the kind who changes one of the worst days of your life into one you'll always remember because someone cared enough to walk through it with you.

Danyel is everything a DAISY nurse should be, and I will always be grateful that she was there for my mother and for our family.
