He said that even though he can't believe she is gone, he can't thank you enough for being there to support him.
Last Saturday, you took care of a patient, and you know what occurred and how the situation turned out. However, I want you to know that her husband called, and I talked with him. He wanted to personally thank you for everything you did for his wife. He said you were so attentive to her, and he appreciates you getting him through the tough time Friday when she was coming out of anesthesia and pain meds complaining of pain. Yet you assured him and her she was ok. He said that even though he can't believe she is gone, he can't thank you enough for being there to support him. I told him I would gladly pass this along to you.
Danny, I second all of this. You are truly amazing to your patients and their families. Your compassion and personality are unmatched. Danny Sharp- My MAN!! Without hesitation, you were all over it, getting your patient the help she needed during this high-stress situation. You were very knowledgeable about the situation; you knew everything that went on before she coded and were able to communicate effectively when the doctor walked in. You were setting up the pacer and art line, asking for equipment, doing compressions, and we could not have done it without your help. You take such great care of your patients, and I know having a patient code is tough, but you did a phenomenal job.
I would like to nominate Danny for Teamwork and Resilience. He is such a wonderful nurse with so many attributes to PCCU. He is a staff resource to his pod partners, always learning new technologies and studying new medical treatments that we offer at AHH.
