Danielle Wright, BSN, RN, CPHON
Danielle is someone I have had the privilege of working alongside for many years, and throughout that time, she has consistently been one of the nurses I admire and look up to most. She embodies everything nursing should be — compassion, excellence, humility, advocacy, and heart.
Danielle is the kind of nurse every nurse aspires to be, but, more importantly, the kind of nurse you pray is caring for someone you love. Her patients absolutely adore her. Families ask for her by name because they know that when Danielle is caring for them, they are receiving not only exceptional nursing care, but genuine compassion and human connection. She takes the time to truly know her patients — what makes them smile, what comforts them, what scares them, and what makes them unique — because she believes every patient deserves individualized, wholehearted care.
What has always stood out to me most about Danielle is her effortless, authentic empathy. She goes above and beyond for every patient, every family, and every coworker without ever asking for recognition. She consistently embraces the greater good and leads by example in the quietest but most powerful ways. She is everything and more to her coworkers, but even more importantly, she is everything to her patients.
Danielle’s impact extends far beyond a single department. She has left a lasting impression everywhere she has worked — from inpatient nursing to the vascular access team to surgical services. In every role, she has been respected not only for her clinical excellence, but for the kindness, patience, and dignity she brings to every interaction. Her presence alone brings comfort and reassurance to both families and staff.
She also has a heart for serving beyond the bedside. Danielle cares deeply about people as a whole — not just their diagnosis or hospital stay, but their overall wellbeing as human beings. She is involved in the broader community and continually seeks ways to care for others holistically, with compassion that extends far beyond the hospital walls.
There is truly no one more deserving of this award. Danielle has impacted countless patients, families, coworkers, and departments throughout her career, including me personally. I can honestly say I only hope to be even a third of the nurse that she is one day. She represents the very best of nursing, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of recognition for the extraordinary care and compassion she provides every single day.
