I just wanted to nominate my colleague Danielle Schott for a DAISY Award. Today, she really exhibited exceptional patient care, and she went above and beyond. Danielle cared for a postpartum mother today on SDU who was very sick and required a higher level of care. Danielle provided excellent patient care and took the time to ensure that this new mother was able to spend time with her new baby in the NICU prior to her transfer to another unit. The reason this is also so special is that Danielle had a very heavy and high acuity assignment, and she coordinated with her colleagues to cover her district so that she could personally escort this mother. Sometimes we can get lost in the craziness of the day, but Danielle truly put her heart into her patient.
